Check, check, check

Yesterday was quite possibly one our most productive days yet in this adoption process.  It's encouraging to have one of those days when it seems like nothing is getting done and your kid will never be here!

Jake and I started off the day early driving to Atlanta to get our biometric fingerprints taken.  Our appointment was at 9am.  We got there at 8:30am and went inside.  Thankfully, we were out of there before our appointment time!  Since things were already going so quickly and smoothly, we decided to go see my grandmother.  A nice treat for us all and a good little break before driving back to Athens.

Once we got home, we ate some lunch and got organized to knock out some notarizing, picture taking, bank visiting, sheriff's office paperwork, court house visiting, etc. etc. etc.....Needless to say, we accomplished a lot in just a few hours.

Aside from getting a lot of adoption paperwork behind us, it was nice to have some time with Jake!  A shout out to the Parham clan for helping with Asher.  And praise the Lord for a productive, safe, and enjoyable day.

Now, we wait for our biometrics to be sent to us and gather those last few items for the dossier.  Hopefully it will continue to be smooth sailing!

all my inmost being, praise his holy name."

So....what now?

With our latest and greatest news about being pregnant, we have been trying to figure out what to do with the adoption.  Just as we were (finally) finishing our home study is when we found out that Baby Parham would be gracing us with his/her presences around May 31.  Excited, yet bummed about our adoption being put off for some time, we talked with our agency about what we should do.  From the get go, we figured that if I got pregnant we paused immediately but after a few phone calls and emails we got the go ahead to keep pursuing our adoption and working on the dossier!!  This was great news to us!
So here we are, January, and really getting the ball rolling on the dossier paperwork.  After making some lists and getting organized, it seems that the dossier shouldn't be too much of a headache...fingers crossed...we have heard some crazy stories.  (We just keep thinking, "It can't just be x amount of things to do."  I am sure we learn in time....)
Thankfully, a lot of the dossier paperwork is doing over, if you will, some home study paper work.  So at least we are talking about a familiar playing field.
Pray for us to have God-speed in this.  Once Baby Parham is born, we must cease all adoption processing until six months after he/she is born.  So we are looking at potentially this time next year.  Lord willing, we will have all paper work, finger prints, etc. in by May and then we can just sit back, relax (as much as you can relax with a newborn), and enjoy our two little ones on this side of the pond.

Really looking forward to being a mom again...and again :)  What exciting times!

will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."

Exciting News

I apologize for such a long absence in my blogging...I've been a little tired and busy for the past couple months.  One, because of the holiday season (we had a great Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years!).  And two, (the exciting news part), I am pregnant!

This might be the first official announcement on the internet, but I guess it's about time considering I am entering into the 19th week!  So I guess we are almost half way there!  (May 31st is the due date.)

I was planning on giving more details on the adoption process too, but Asher has just woken up (of course).  So plan on checking the blog sooner than later for more details on what's going on with the adoption!

We are really excited about 2013 and all the adventures that we are about to get ourselves into!  Thanks for the prayers and support.

"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
