It's Out of Our Hands

As of Thursday, the dossier is out of our hands!  What a relief to mail such an important package!  I thought once we were done with all of this and it was in the mail that I might do a little victory dance...but I decided to spare everyone in the FedEx store. :)

Once it arrives in Kentucky, it will be reviewed by our supervisor.  She will let us know if anything is missing or not correct or needs to be notarized, etc.  Lord willing it will be complete and we won't have to worry about mailing in additional paperwork.
After Kentucky, this little jewel of a package will make about five more stops on its way to Ethiopia.  From the East Coast to the West Coast and back, it will be reviewed by all kinds of important people (you know, the ones that make sure we aren't some kind of crazies with a less than reputable background.)

So now on to planning this corn hole tournament...look for more details to come (we are thinking possibly the second or third weekend in March!)

"He has shown you, O man, what is good.
And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly, to love mercy and
to walk humbly with your God."

Was It Really That Easy?

For the past year, all we've heard about is what a nightmare the dossier process is.  We were intimidated and anticipating it to drag out with lots of trouble...
Well, I am excited to say, we are done collecting the paperwork for the dossier!  Not only have we gone down the list and checked it twice, we've also received the fingerprint approval that we thought we would be waiting for for at least another couple months!
God is so good!
Hopefully we can get it sent sometime next week to be approved by our Ethiopia director.  After that, the dossier packet will make it's journey around the U.S. and then on to Ethiopia!!

Is this really happening?  This is the question that often pops in my mind.  I see other families that are still in the beginning stages of this grueling process, on the verge of bringing their child home, or those who have just recently made the final trip to bring home that special child they've been praying for and waiting so patiently for.  I am encouraged to be among these people.  When it just feels like all we are doing is paperwork, I look at the families that have made that final step of bringing their child home and am reminded it is real....it is happening...it is worth it!

And now we wait again.  With a little one on the way in May, we have a lot to think about and distract us until we can start receiving referrals about this time next year.  Pray for us still as we do some fundraising and grant applications.  (Be on the look out soon for our announcement about our corn hole tournament....)

"The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing."
